INTERVIEW: Oceanlux chats new single "Hurt Me Harder"

​What can you tell us about your new single?

“Hurt Me Harder” is upbeat with catchy melodies. It depicts overcoming toxic relationships with the realization of self confidence and worthiness. We tried to keep the song sounding optimistic and powerful to help others in similar situations.


Will this be leading up to a larger release in the near future, like an EP or LP? 

“Hurt Me Harder” is just the first of five singles we are releasing this year. All five will come together to create an EP!


Do you plan on touring this year at all to promote your new music?

This year we plan on playing as many shows as possible. No tours are planned as of yet, but multiple shows are in the works in order to promote each single release.


Where did the inspiration for your new video come from? 

Pop art. We wanted to enhance the single with bright colors and sarcasm. The videos brightness brings a fun dichotomy to the otherwise dark and personal lyrics. We were inspired by The 1975, Real Friends and Andy Warhol.
