WASHINGTON DC | JUNE 26th, 2020 - Hard rock/metal band Novarium have released their new single "Virus," available on all digital platforms NOW, with a corresponding music video. Although the members are scattered across opposite coasts, the band has been actively working on new music for their second EP. "Virus" gives listeners an intimate taste of their upcoming work, and showcases a rebirth of sorts for Novarium. A modern take on the fusion of hard rock and metal, "Virus" is a true testament to the band's continuous evolution, despite the members' physical distance. Containing both cinematic elements and some retro 80's influences, Novarium is authentically themselves, allowing ample room for growth, experimentation, and change. "Virus" uses heavy gothic imagery to tell the story of human nature, which they plan to be a recurring theme in their new music. About the single, lead vocalist Jen Janet states: “Virus” uses god/goddess imagery and gothic lyrics to describe human nature. It’s about loving someone and putting them on a pedestal, but that person changes, becoming selfish and evil. Although we are in the midst of a pandemic at the moment, we wrote this song quite a while ago. It seemed fitting to release it now with current events. It’s about understanding the virus inside ourselves – the dark parts of ourselves and coming to terms with them and who we are. Humans are not god and evil, there are always parts of us that will perform good deeds, and parts that will perform evil actions as well. Understanding that is an important part of understanding society and the confusing time in our current social and political climate." Novarium is a U.S.-based gothic metal outfit founded in 2013 marrying elements of doom, progressive, and symphonic metal with the dark ambience of synth and orchestral elements in a way that La Suricate Magazine (Belgium) describes as “…music that cleverly mixes sweetness with aggressiveness.” Comprised of vocalist, Jen Janet (ex-Blind Revision, Mimesis), bassist Carey White, keyboardist Micah Consylman (ex-Bella Morte), drummer D. Anthony, and guitarists Sean Gronholt and Dean Michaels (live While Heaven Wept), the band has shared the stage with such notable acts as Hanzel und Gretyl, Genitorturers, and Amorphis. In 2017, the band earned a guest spot on the Infektion Divinum tour with industrial/black metal band, Psyclon 9. With a rejuvenated lineup in 2018, the band paid homage to gothic metal titans, Type O Negative, by releasing their rendition of “Christian Woman.” In their first original offering since their debut album, Omicron (2016), the band has released their new single, “Virus” from their forthcoming EP, mixed and mastered at Deep End Studio in Baltimore, MD (Steep Steps). The release coincides with the band’s first official music video helmed by Zenbeast Media (GOZU, The Machinist). The band proudly endorses ESP guitars, Sinister Guitar Picks, and Soultone cymbals. Novarium is currently hard at work on a second EP followed by plans for East and West Coast tours. ORLANDO, FL | JUNE 5TH, 2020 - Orlando-based alternative rock band Miramar Drive have released their new single "Caves," available on all digital platforms NOW. Their second single of 2020 is an emotionally-charged post-punk influenced track, and lyrically questions the afterlife. Complete with a powerful chorus and fresh guitar riffs, Miramar Drive find their footing on "Caves," and are excited to share such a personal piece. Although primarily alt rock, the band's sound appeals to a wide spectrum of listeners, containing outside elements of pop punk and bouncy pop rock, as well. About the single, the band states: "On February 16th, 2019 only 2 weeks before we released our first album as a band “Curtains”, we lost someone that was like a family member to all of us. He was the father of two very close friends of ours, and basically a second father to us. This song was written in August 2019, so by that point I had some time to reflect on his passing. I typically don’t write songs directed at 1 person specifically but in this instance, it felt like the only way to write. It’s a letter to him talking about the how him being gone doesn’t feel real, how he enjoyed and encouraged our music, how he was always in motion and working hard, and lastly that I hope he’s found peace... wherever he may be." Miramar Drive started in early 2014 as a solo project by Orlando, Florida based singer/songwriter Jacob Craddock with the release of “Letters to Life", which was self-produced in his bedroom at age 15. Every release from Miramar Drive has been produced by Craddock. His 2015 debut album “Back to Orlando" came to be after an unhappy 3-year stint living in Newport Beach, CA. After graduating high school and starting college back in Florida, Craddock converted his dorm into his new home studio. There he recorded the “Be Alive - EP", which sonically toned down his aggressive punk rock roots and relied more on uplifting lyrical content and mellow atmospheric guitars. A few months after the EP’s release in summer 2016, Craddock once again moved to Southern California... this time as an adult. Being forced to focus on making ends meet led to very little creative output, and thus brought him back to Florida again after only 3 months. Upon returning, Craddock began to work on music again starting with the single “Adult Thing" (the last release to have Craddock handle all instrument and vocal duties) in April 2017. No longer happy with the process of being a solo artist, Craddock recruited two friends to handle drum and bass duties. Jack Bramuchi on drums and Micah Rojas on bass. They began by releasing singles “Slow Down" in October 2017, followed by “Afterthought" in March 2018. The band agreed that with the success of the two singles, the next natural progression was to record an album. Shortly after drums were tracked, Charlie Bramuchi was added to the lineup as lead guitarist. With a completed line-up and full-length album in hand, the band went on to play a plethora of shows in Florida in 2019 to support the album release of “Curtains”. The album was Miramar Drive’s most successful release to date, garnishing over 20,000 streams between Spotify & Apple Music with no major playlist placements. After 6 months of pushing the album the band took some time off but re-entered the studio in February 2020 to produce two new high energy singles. “Paper Boy” released April 3rd, 2020 and “Caves” released June 5th, 2020. The energetic duo previously shared their last release in 2019. Bouncy and upbeat, "Your Anything" continues to cement Double Identity's style as fun, yet lyrically in depth. The track delves into the reclamation of personal power after escaping an abusive relationship, and although young, members Courtney and Arden Kurhayez are incredibly introspective. About the single, member Arden states: “This song developed out of the aftermath of an abusive relationship and was one of the first steps towards taking power back from someone who should have never had it in the first place. It’s a way of saying you don’t want to be anything to someone – not an ex, or even a memory to look back on – and signifies being fed up with and stepping away from someone’s abusive, looping behavior when it shouldn’t have to apply to you anymore.” Double Identity is a pop/rock band comprised of 21-year-old twin sisters Courtney Kurhayez (vocals/drums) and Arden Kurhayez (vocals/guitar). They began playing music at five years old and have been performing in and around the Chicagoland area for more than a decade. In 2018, the duo released their debut EP, ‘Small Talk,’ followed up by a single, ‘Everything Reminds Me of You’ in 2019.
