PHILADELPHIA, PA | SEPT 25th, 2020 -  Indie/alt rock band Marcelyn, the band have released their new LP "Monstrous Existence," available on all digital platforms NOW. The three piece features a wide range of instruments on the LP, delving into dynamic, organic production. Originally introduced through two recently-released singles, "Quarantine Song" and "Empty Room," the LP is the bold result of various frustrations felt by the band throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. About the creation of the album, the band states:

We started recording in Travis’s studio in December and finished a song or two. There was a nice airy, live sound to them. But then COVID came to town and we had to stop. In April, Marce sent Travis a demo of “Empty Room” and he just ran with it. Marce and Mike recorded their parts on their own and sent them to him, and he filled up the rest of the song with all kinds of keyboards and guitars. The resulting sound was much richer than the stuff from December, so we shelved the older stuff and did the rest of the album remotely. Travis worked like a quarantined madman and the album was done by July.
Marcelyn, the band is something both fragile and deadly with a heavy helping of kickass. Originally the solo project of classically-trained singer Marcelyn Lebovitz, this band has now grown into a three-piece force to be reckoned with, featuring namesake Marcelyn on vocals and ukulele, her brother Mike on bass, and Travis Martin on drums, keyboard and guitar. The trio serves indie rock weirdness on a silver platter with a side of smooth vocals, audacious bass playing, and groovy beats.

Their debut LP "Indignities & Depravities" was released on June 1, 2018; their second "This is Woman's Lib?" came out on August 8, 2019. “Monstrous Existence,” their third album, will be available everywhere on September 25, 2020. Two singles, “Quarantine Song” and “Empty Room,” are already streaming. The band used to play shows throughout the United States (mostly in their hometown of Philadelphia), but since the pandemic it’s been livestreams on Instagram. Wear a mask.

LONG ISLAND, NY | SEPT 25th, 2020 - Progressive metal artist Eric Francis has released his new LP "Under A Fake Sky," available on all digital platforms NOW. Creating a deliberate sense of “musical whiplash” in his sound, Eric Francis uses a contrast between light and heavy elements in his writing. “Under A Fake Sky” was conceived during the COVID-19 pandemic from March - July, and was created entirely by Francis in his home while in quarantine. Originally released on August 28th, he is excited to share the instrumental version a month later. About the instrumental LP, Eric states:

"I believe that the instrumental version of Under a Fake Sky provides a very different listening experience than the original album. Whether you dislike vocals in general or just want to focus your attention on the riffs and drum parts, you'll definitely hear these songs in a new way without the vocals. Personally, I find the instrumental album to be very relaxing."

Progressive metal artist Eric Francis is always trying something different. Experimenting with elements of many rock and metal subgenres, his discography is a sonic melting pot always open for expansion. Self-described as creating a sense of ‘musical whiplash,’ Francis’ music is characterized by complicated rhythm guitar parts and “airy”, ambient leads, using a contrast between light and heavy elements in his writing. Prior to releasing music as a solo artist, Francis collaborated with many bands local to his home on Long Island.

His new LP, ‘Under A Fake Sky,” (released August 28th) was created during the COVID-19 pandemic by Francis himself. Although the record was unplanned, Eric found himself inspired by the confines of quarantine to produce, write, record, mix, and master an album from his home. Lyrically, the LP tells the story of his personal experiences with quarantine, isolation, current events, and the COVID-19 pandemic. “Under A Fake Sky” is a mesh of progressive metal and djent sounds that blend together seamlessly.

PHILADELPHIA, PA | SEPT 11, 2020 -  Indie/alt rock band Marcelyn, the band have announced the upcoming release of their new LP "Monstrous Existence," available on all digital platforms September 25th. The three piece features a wide range of instruments on the LP, delving into dynamic, organic production. About the creation of the album, the band states:

Recording this album remotely really made us rethink our writing process and how we work out songs. Because we had to send full parts back and forth, we had fully formed ideas of how a part should go, or where a change should be made, and having that mapped out made a big difference. We sometimes had 3 or 4 different versions or mixes of songs, with different instrumentation. So we got to pick and choose the best versions of each song.
