![]() How does “Neptune” vary from the music you released earlier this year? Brad: This track really puts our energy on display. I believe it captures the experimental elements of the band and it really keeps you on your toes. The chorus is one of my favorite choruses we have written to date. To me, it is incredibly catchy and the lyrics are thought-provoking. Were there any conscious decisions made in regard to changing or evolving your sound with this release? Or was the writing/recording process a natural evolution? Jam: I think if anything we were forced to allow this song to develop and evolve over time. The longest I spent in a studio up until this band was around a month. We’ve been writing and rewriting this song over the last few years and the message of this song has changed drastically in that time. Do you feel as if “Neptune” is the best representation of who Cascadent is now, compared to a few months back? Jonathan: Yes and no. We are on a long journey. This song was actually written instrumentally a while back, so I have different feelings for it than people who would hear it for the first time. With that being said, keep an eye out for more things we have in store but enjoy this part with us. Brad: Artists tend to feel like every new release represents who they are at that moment. I feel like this release makes sense for us right now. However, we are growing and changing rapidly as a group. We really sharpen each other. With the introduction of new vocalist Bradley Pallone, how has the dynamic within the band changed? Jonathan: I will only comment that it worked for us. Every band experience is subjective. The previous vocalists are doing amazing things on their own so support The Mobtones and That's the Ticket! You will not be disappointed. They are seriously talented Do you plan on touring at all to promote this release, or will that be a future goal? Sam: Yes, we do plan on touring again very soon. We have another release slated for later in the year, so we will be pushing these releases. We hope to tour the Northeast next. How would you describe “Neptune” in three words? Brad: Aggressive, catchy and contemplative. Please include all social media and listening links. Thank you! Sam: Thank you for letting us share our experiences! Self-described 'dream rockers', Mighty Tortuga says that "Swear To God" 'is their way of saying the hook is still alive and well.' Complete with dreamy guitar riffs, synth overtones, and somber vocals, this track takes you back to a time when guitars were still on the radio. Along with a music video for the track, Mighty Tortuga shows a great representation of self on "Swear To God," highlighting their emo-rock roots and merging them with a lighter interpretation of modern power pop. A refreshing breath of air, "Swear To God" is a strong indication of where Mighty Tortuga's mesmerizing, dream-like sound is headed. About the single, the band states: This track, as well as everything we do for this band was a 100% DIY effort. We feel providing a DIY content lets the fan become part of the experience with us. The music and lyrics are relatable, with subject matter that resonates with those who need to hear it. In comparison to our earlier releases, this is our most ambitious take on the dream pop genre. From the catchy hook to the soaring instrumentals, nothing is subtle. We wanted to create something unique in a scene that is saturated by pop punk. Vivid and spirited, "Always Restart" is a firm representation of growth; although just a small showing, it's clear that The Bad Bees have thrust themselves into a new era. While the quirky indie characteristics of their last record in 2017 are still present, The Bad Bees have evolved into a more mature entity with "Always Restart." About the single, the band states: “We’ve been toiling away for sometime now and so this song is our take on grinding away at something in a cheerful manor.” The Bad Bees are a group of friends that clambered out of the primordial soup of their local scene. After a summer spent in a smokey basement jamming with a larger group of musicians, the four of them banded together and started playing gigs. Drawing on their diverse shared influences, from Mars Volta to Fleet Foxes, they spent the next few years between studios and stages forming their sound. The Bad Bees debuted their first EP Fast Paced Space in 2016. The spaced-out, progressive sound earned them quick success when their music video for 'Starcrushed' found popularity and earned them a spot playing an iHeart Radio show with Misterwives at Festival Pier, in Philadelphia. They followed it up in 2017 with another set of songs called Big Pretty, which they took on tour in the summer of 2018. Now, they're ready to unleash their newest EP: The Time It Takes. With their most honest and vibrant work yet, The Bad Bees have evolved into a dynamic wall of sound. This may not be their final form, but they’re excited to show it off. Bold and full of passion, "Neptune" pulls Cascadent to a new dimension, combining heavier post-hardcore elements with lighter, airier modern rock. Having introduced their new vocalist Brad Pallone earlier this year, Cascadent is eager to continue their evolution with their current lineup. About "Neptune," the band states: “Neptune” is a song that takes a look at how a social media culture can perpetuate a prison-like environment where everyone possesses the ability to watch each other, and how that affects our behavior under that microscope. Cascadent is a five-piece alternative/progressive rock band from Atlanta, Georgia consisting of Jonathan Lee (guitar), Samuel Freeman (drums), Jonah Volk (guitar), Brad Pallone (vocals) and John Samuel Mecum aka Jam (bass). Originating in 2016, the group began writing songs with original vocalist David Braden and playing shows throughout the Atlanta area under a different name. The band’s debut single “Aces Over Kings,” released in summer 2017, brought on an official name change to Cascadent. After the single’s release, Cascadent introduced new vocalist Brad Pallone, and in March of 2019 released two singles, “Into the Mirror” and “The In-Between” featuring Pallone’s vocals. The perfect storm of intricate guitar melodies, hard-hitting rhythm, and catchy melodies, presented by Cascadent are complemented by their pulse-pounding kinetic live performance. They have performed with national touring acts such as Makari, Eidola, and Hands Like Houses. Their lyrics are charming, but not without substance, and range from being intimate and personal to songs that address topics like astral projection and the impact of living in a digital age. After gathering my thoughts on what I wanted to write about, Victoria came very naturally to me. It was one of those songs where the lyrics just flowed through my brain and spilled onto the paper. I find when that happens, it's a sign of a sincere song. As far as the recording process I can safely say it was unlike anything we have done thus far. The reason for that is because we went into the studio with a solid understanding of the direction we wanted to go in, with no doubts on our parts or lyrics. Everything had really been set in stone after writing it and performing it live quite a few times. How was this creative process different from prior releases you’ve worked on? I don't think that the creative writing process was any different. What was different about it was how confident we felt that our fan base would enjoy this song. We felt like the message was something that was near and dear to all of our hearts, a message that we wanted to convey to all our listeners. What is the overall message in “Victoria” and how does it differ from other topics you’ve written about? Contrary to popular belief, this song is not about a girl named Victoria, but instead the Latin spelling of Victory. This is a song about overcoming what you once thought you couldn't. It's about the heavy silhouette of society telling you how you should live your life, and others telling you to stay in this safe lane that a majority of people follow because of how we are all raised. This is a song about following your dreams, no matter how big or how small. It's a song that I hope will inspire people to look into the mirror every morning, and no matter your situation, saying that i can make today a victory. Do you feel like the track best represents who The Spring is? Definitely. From the flowing melodies, to a catchy chorus that makes you want to sing along, we feel this song accurately represents our sound, and what we stand for. You’ve been playing some regional shows recently. How do you capture your live energy on recordings? By being exactly who we are. Not changing a single thing. The passion that you see on stage, is the same emotion and energy that we bring into the studio. Every lyric that moves you, any guitar lick that you vibe with, is performed with the same amount of energy and love that we strive to represent on stage. Will “Victoria” be part of a larger body of work? What are your release plans for the remaining months of 2019? There has been lots of talk about a full studio album and we couldn't be more excited. Our plans for 2019 is to continue to release more music, and to reach out to all of our fans by performing live all around the country. We want to continue to connect with every single one of our listeners, either in person, or through our recordings. <iframe src="https://open.spotify.com/embed/album/3zemJ81fkUFuImm3dn1L0n" width="300" height="380" frameborder="0" allowtransparency="true" allow="encrypted-media"></iframe> www.thespringofficial.com www.facebook.com/thespringofficial Insta : @thespringofficial Twitter : @morespringpls |
