​Why was “Stockholm” chosen as your first single back, as opposed to another song?

Stockholm was the first thing Dillon clicked with when it came to the band. He felt like it was the easiest to dive into when it was first presented to him. Stockholm really shows our true colors and we feel as if it’s who we truly are.

How has your sound evolved since your last release?

Our previous releases were very pop based and we were trying to head towards a poppier route. With the departure of Spencer and the arrival of Dillon, things changed a bit. We’re adding in more grit and emotion. Lots of different genres mixed into one, it’s great. We’re straying away from the poppier sound for a bit and trying something completely new to us.

Do you feel like time away from releasing music helped the band grow?

The last year has been pretty up and down for all of us. We were figuring out what we wanted to do with the future of Louder Than Words and took everything into consideration. Johnny, Christian, and Esteban have been working together for many years and their bond is unbreakable to say the least. The long break we had definitely helped us grow as a band and musicians in general. We became more confident in every way possible and it feels very rewarding at the end of the day.

Will “Stockholm” eventually be part of a bigger body of work, like an EP?

More than likely. We’re writing in a bunch of different directions at the moment and are trying to hone in on what’s going to work best for our dynamic.

How would you describe the sound of “Stockholm”? 

“Stockholm” is a pop punk song, I guess. Almost like that old Paramore sound we all grew up on. Mixed in with vibes from State Champs, The Gospel Youth, and more. It’s very upbeat and punchy.

How did the writing process for this track differ from past writing experiences?

This song has gone through tons of changes. We’ve been working on it for a bit and everything fell into place once we brought Dillon in. We demoed the song out a long long time ago, eventually recording with Jonas Vece. “Stockholm”. This time around, we actually sat down with a producer and shaped the song.

NEW YORK, NY | MARCH 29TH, 2019 - Electronic alternative rock band VISTA have announced a summer US tour, the Electric Souls tour, kicking off in June 2019. Fresh off the release of their newest single "Eat (I Must)" and a spring tour (On The Hunt: Part II), VISTA wants to continue their momentum. The tour, which will consist of dates throughout  the midwest, south, and southeast, is their most ambitious run to date. 
An electronically-tinged alternative rock band, NY-based outfit VISTA originally formed in late 2015. Comprised of lead vocalist Hope Vista and guitarist Greg Almeida, the band combines both modern alternative rock and electronic influences to create their unique sound. VISTA released their debut 4-track EP “VERSUS” shortly after their original inception, in which their debut single “On The Brink” debuted worldwide on idobi radio. Their name hasn’t been shy in the press, since; the band has garnered praise from outlets such as Alternative Press, Rock Sound, Substream, and AXS. In 2017, VISTA supported Fueled By Ramen artist Against The Current at Irving Plaza, gained idobi rotation with their single “Henchmen,” and completed two headlining US tours to support their 2017 sophomore EP "Long Live," which upon release made its’ way onto three different iTunes charts. Most recently in 2018, VISTA released two singles, “Witch Hunt” (earning 135,000 Spotify streams) and “Born For Blood”, completed their third US tour “The Bloodlust Tour,” and played multiple support dates with Set It Off (Fearless Records). “Witch Hunt,” produced by ZK Productions, premiered worldwide on idobi radio and earned video rotation in Journeys’ stores nationwide.

VISTA's new single "Eat (I Must)," released in March 2019, narrates the inner turmoil and guilt felt by lead vocalist Hope Vista throughout her personal struggles with both body dysmorphia and an eating disorder. With “Eat (I Must),” VISTA’s signature dark, synth-laden rock sound is still present, but lyrically, the band approaches the haunting track with the goal of sparking a larger conversation about the danger of eating disorders and cultivating a safe, open forum for listeners to discuss their experiences. "Eat (I Must)" is available on all digital music platforms NOW.

OLD BRIDGE, NJ | APRIL 29TH, 2019 - New Jersey indie rock duo Pollyanna have released their debut EP, "The World Is...," available on all digital platforms NOW. The duo, comprised of Jill Beckett and Dan McCool, have been in various projects together from a young age, using their past musical experiences to evolve into Pollyanna. "The World Is..."  showcases all of their dimensions, exploring a wide range of emotions throughout all four tracks. It's hard to choose a singular track to highlight on this EP; the band successfully blends together pieces of indie rock, alternative, and pop to create a unique collection that is sure to tug at the heart.Pollyanna is a Central New Jersey based indie-rock poptimist duo consisting of lead singer and guitarist Jill Beckett and drummer Dan McCool. Their name, deriving from the definition “unreasonably or illogically optimistic,” showcases the band’s fun and playful yet driven nature. The group initially formed in 2013 when they began writing and playing music with friends in middle school. Even as 13 year old budding musicians, they were eager to create and play music to reach audiences beyond the confines of Jill’s open garage doors. After entering high school in 2014, they experienced a rotation of different band members while performing under the name Chasing Down Sunset. This name stuck until 2017, when the remaining two members decided to move forward as a duo and settled on the name Pollyanna. Combining dreamy synths and raw, poetic lyrics with modern indie rock influences, Pollyanna has won over a following in the New Jersey music scene. Louder Than Words is an American rock band from Las Vegas, NV formed in August 2015 and consisted of Christian Hill on rhythm guitar, Jonathan (Johnny) Buzzin on drums, and Spencer Berry on vocals. After their first release Louder Than Words quickly built a solid foundation for who they are
as a band. Their first EP ‘Letters & Lovers’ was released 2/14/16. Following the release of ‘Letters & Lovers’ EP, Louder Than Words gained a lot of local recognition. After only 2 shows they were chosen by the director of The Studio at the Palms to play Extreme Thing 2016 where they opened for popular acts such as Set It Off, State Champs, The Story So Far, The Maine, and Mayday Parade. With help from a Warner Music Group rep, the band went on a successful 8 week tour with Epic Proportions in 2017. The band announced the departure of their original vocalist in April 2018. Louder Th.n Words teased new changes throughout the year, leading up to the announcement of their current vocalist, Dillon Potkay-Moore. The band is set to release their new single, ‘Stockholm’ on 5/3/19, with a music video following only a couple of weeks later. Currently the band is writing new music for a single release and an EP that they intend to release later this year. Louder Than Words currently consists of Dillon Potkay-Moore (vocals & rhythm guitar), Esteban Ruelas (bass), Christian Hill (lead guitar), and Jonathan Buzzin (drums).

Pop Rock Band HAAS Releases New Single "Mama Always Told Me"
VIRGINIA, USA | APRIL 19TH, 2019 - Virginia-based pop/rock project HAAS have released their new single, "Mama Always Told Me," out on all digital music platforms NOW. Just the band's second single (their debut "Behind Those Eyes" was released in February), HAAS has a clear identity. Approaching the pop/rock genre with confidence, lead vocalist Sam Haas injects the music with heart ache, power,and an authenticity that can't be mimicked. “Mama Always Told Me” is the second single off HAAS’ upcoming EP. This song is about my feelings towards important people in my life at that time and how hurt I was by their actions. This song describes what went down and how confused I was by it all.  These relationships were an immense learning experience and taught me that people aren’t always what/who you think they are. The final line “mama always told me you were never worth it” shows that number one, mom always knows best and secondly that you eventually learn and grow from situations that broke you. 
HAAS is a pop/rock band from Virginia. The name HAAS stems from lead vocalist Sam Haas who decided to pay tribute to not only her family name but her late grandfather who inspired her through his music. After years of playing around with names and ideas, HAAS became the official name in 2018. Through the use of catchy melodies, rhythmic guitars, and expressive lyrics, HAAS has been able to marry the pop/rock sound. The group uses music not only as an outlet for themselves, but want the music to be an outlet for others. They draw on personal hardships, such as loss, strained relationships, bullying, depression, and anxiety, but also hardships within the world today. HAAS strives to promote a place of safety and inclusivity, where it is okay to be who you are and forget about the real world for a minute. HAAS has discussed being bullied and scared of being who they are and by embracing themselves, they hope to inspire others to do the same; “love who you are and don’t be afraid to do the things you want.” HAAS plans to release their debut five-song EP in the Spring. NEW JERSEY, USA | APRIL 12TH, 2019 - New Jersey-based alternative rock project Painted Young have released their brand new EP, "I'm Not Gonna Wait," out on all digital music platforms NOW. Originally introduced through the "The Madhouse," the EP's lead single, "I'm Not Gonna Wait" is a culmination of hard work, determination, and tenacity. Painted Young's frontman Chris Santos is filled with a vivacious energy - but that doesn't take away from his darker layers. Santos spent time carefully crafting this EP after transitioning to a solo project, a move that was not expected, but deemed necessary. Lead single "The Madhouse" digs into the usage of metaphors to express the frustration of being alone in your personal mental health issues, while the remaining EP tracks expand on Painted Young's sleek combination of pop punk, pop rock, and alternative influences. About "I'm Not Gonna Wait", Santos states:

This EP is very long overdue, and it feels good to be finally putting new music out there. The songs on this EP are all based on personal experiences I’ve had. Whether the lyrics tend to be more direct (“Want your song? Here you go.”) or more metaphorical (“The Madhouse”), it’s all an extension of myself or something I’ve gone through.

Painted Young is an alternative rock/pop punk solo project from Aberdeen, New Jersey, fronted by Chris Santos. The band name first came to be in 2012, when Santos brought some friends together to perform for a charity fundraiser at their high school. Santos started writing original music in 2014 and the first song he presented to the band was called “Leave Some Space for Me.” Less than a year later in 2015, they released their first EP, titled “Looking Forward to Never Looking Back.” The band takes musical inspiration from alternative rock and pop punk bands. With catchy pop melodies, lively guitars, and momentum-filled drums, Painted Young puts as much energy into their live shows as possible, in order to leave some form of an impact on the audience. Painted Young have played numerous venues, primarily in New Jersey, including the Brighton Bar, the Stanhope House, the Stone Pony, and Starland Ballroom. The band have also played some shows in Brooklyn, at venues such as Arlene’s Grocery and the Knitting Factory. They’ve opened for national acts such as Richie Ramone, Johnnie Guilbert, and SayWeCanFly. By December of 2017 while releasing an EP and two singles, there have been numerous lineup changes in the band. It had gotten to the point where fans and friends couldn’t keep up with who was part of the group anymore. A decision was made and with the blessings of past members, Santos chose to continue Painted Young as a solo project. In 2018, Santos started recording what will be Painted Young’s second EP with the help of J.R. Sanson at Bullet Proof Recording Studio in Hazlet, NJ. What inspired your new single “Head High”?
Head High was equally inspired by the sounds of a summer discotheque and the mysterious nighttime loneliness hidden beneath a breathing city. Sonically it's filled with the energy of love and lust; wrapped in a mirror of self-reflection. We live within a mysterious moment where reality and illusion are blurred. As individuals we were really in the midst of it. We found ourselves trying to decipher fact and fiction while forming identity from our personal experiences. The state of your mind is easily altered when it all starts to feel the same.

How does this release compare to your past music?
This song felt like a natural bridge between our past records and what we have in store for the future. It's part one of three singles that will roll out as the year goes on. We're super excited to share the other songs with everyone as well.  We've been throwing them in our live set and it all feels right.

How has MAYVE’s sound evolved since your last release?
Perhaps in the past we felt we were keeping to a certain set of rules. This time there were definitely no rules to how we were approaching things both lyrically and sonically. We're always looking to experiment in hopes we stumble upon a strong identity we can carry with us into the future. Â I think we definitely approached the beginning of an interesting growth process with this one.

Head High, is part one of three singles that follow a first-person narrative on the altered perceptive state occurring in love and lust. We live in a time where lines are blurred between happiness and success and we exist as products of our perceived value in the eyes of our peers. Head High was conceived as the tropical sounds of summer discotheques met us in mysterious moments of self-reflection. High on the energy of life and love, confused by the road ahead, caught up somewhere in the middle.

What are your upcoming plans for 2019?
We’re going to finish out the year releasing our next two singles with music videos then its back to the studio.

LONG ISLAND, NY | APRIL 5TH, 2019 - NY-based indie pop rock band SWIM have released their new single "The Chase," out on all digital platforms NOW. The track, a fun and energetic piece written collectively by the band, blends together various elements of mainstream pop, rock, and indie. "The Chase" is quite nostalgic, speaking of personal doubt in a relationship, while also piecing together each band members' instrumentation to create a sleek, cool fusion. The Chase was written by all members of the band, slowly coming together as they wrote each section of the song. What started as a simple chord progression would be recorded and polished over the course of the year to become the version that is released today. 
SWIM is an indie pop-rock band established in Stony Brook, New York. Voted one of the Top 10 bands on Long Island during the summer of 2017 in Newsday’s Band Battle, SWIM has been active at venues across Long Island since 2015, following the release of their first, self-titled EP, even performing at notable local venues like 89 North (Patchogue), Revolution (Amityville), and the Rainbow Stage at Heckscher State Park.
