![]() What can you tell us about your new single? “Hurt Me Harder” is upbeat with catchy melodies. It depicts overcoming toxic relationships with the realization of self confidence and worthiness. We tried to keep the song sounding optimistic and powerful to help others in similar situations. Will this be leading up to a larger release in the near future, like an EP or LP? “Hurt Me Harder” is just the first of five singles we are releasing this year. All five will come together to create an EP! Do you plan on touring this year at all to promote your new music? This year we plan on playing as many shows as possible. No tours are planned as of yet, but multiple shows are in the works in order to promote each single release. Where did the inspiration for your new video come from? Pop art. We wanted to enhance the single with bright colors and sarcasm. The videos brightness brings a fun dichotomy to the otherwise dark and personal lyrics. We were inspired by The 1975, Real Friends and Andy Warhol. ![]() Why was “Behind Those Eyes” chosen as your debut single? Behind Those eyes was not originally the debut single for HAAS. After recording Behind Those Eyes, we [my producer & I] thought it was just so powerful both musically and lyrically that it became the natural choice. How was the name HAAS chosen for the project? After years of trying under my given name, Sam Haas, it just didn’t have the impact I wanted. I had been playing around with ideas for months and after Behind Those Eyes was written, I thought about the future. My grandfather was a huge inspiration to me growing up for his musical abilities and wanted the HAAS named to live on through music. Are you hoping to add other members to the project in the future? I would love to have members added! I love working with others to create an amazing creative work. I want someone to be as interested and in love with everything we have so far before moving forward full-time with people. Will you be playing any live shows to promote your new music? As of right now there are no live shows booked. Hoping to book some shows soon! What is your biggest goal for HAAS in 2019? My goal for 2019 is to release more new music for HAAS and also start playing more shows, gaining new fans and hopefully touring everywhere. Where can readers listen to the track and connect with you? Readers can find Behind Those Eyes on Spotify, Pandora, Apple Music, iTunes, Amazon Music, Youtube, etc. I hope everyone can take a listen and enjoy it! ![]() 1.)Hi guys! What was the band’s inspiration for the “Neck Tattoos” video? Hey back! For “Neck Tattoos” Paul (lead singer and guitar) wanted to do a “one shot” music video. So we had a great parameter to work with for this first video. Max (guitar, backup vocals and co-director) likes to put new spins on an old standard. So with “Neck Tattoos” the one shot feel ends up being the new take on what is a day in the life of a person going through emotional strife, needing to get out of their house and heading to a party. We also liked the idea of using a female lead (Katrina Abreu) as Paul uses a lot of non gender specific pronouns in his lyrics. Stephen Emerick (Director, Filmer, editer) was huge in further developing the plot along side Max and his filming and editing really brought the video home. Also huge shout out to the one man lighting machine, Will Armstrong for lighting every space in the video. It was a lot of fun creating the video and bringing together all the elements to present something we are truly proud of. 2.) Why did you choose to create a video for “Neck Tattoos”? Neck Tattoos was the first official single we ever released and with our full length nearly complete we really wanted to put out a video for our friends and fans. 3.) Will you be releasing any other music videos in the near future? We have already filmed a second video and have plans for 3 more on top of that that will all be making their way to the internet starting in spring! 4.) What can you tell us about your upcoming LP? Our debut full length “Perfectly Temporary” is a collection of songs written by Paul that Max fell in love with when they were on a road trip in late 2017. The songs are straightforward nostalgic feeling anthems that speak on drug use, suicide and suicide prevention, abuse, relationships and life. Beyond that they show what a group of people can do when they support one another in making dreams come to life. We all have become very close in Live Well, it’s stemmed from our love for Paul’s songs but has become so much more than that. We have all had hard conversations about our own lives and journeys brought out by Paul’s songs and all have supported each other in that. It’s really amazing what a group of friends can do when they come around a common goal in an open and honest way. “Perfectly Temporary” should leave everyone feeling that love and honesty with every song. 5.) Is “Neck Tattoos” a good representation of the sound we’ll hear on the LP? In some ways for sure, but also “Perfectly Temporary” will have other songs with much different soundscapes, tempos and feel; from the happiest uptempo song, to heavy songs with hardships, to slow and just sad tracks. 6.) After an extensive about of self-discovery and reflection, lead vocalist Sam Haas brings the project to life through a reflective set of lyrics in "Behind Those Eyes." With the track's music video release to follow on February 12th, HAAS approaches the broad pop/rock genre with ease; "Behind Those Eyes" showcases pulsing, rhythmic guitars and powerful lead vocals, reminiscent of 2000's artists Kelly Clarkson and The Veronicas. The single paves the way for HAAS' five-track debut EP, due out later this year. About the single, lead vocalist Sam Haas states: “Behind Those Eyes” is the debut single off HAAS’ upcoming EP. This song is about the dynamics of my relationship with my sister, at a particular point in time, and how an outside influence was changing my perception of her. The song shows the emotional roller coaster that was a year of my life. It shows how an outside influence can have so much influence over someone. This is a song about my efforts to “save” her, but at some point, you have to stop trying and move on. Though this song is immensely personal, I believe that it can be applied to any type of relationship. HAAS is a pop/rock band from Virginia. The name HAAS stems from lead vocalist Sam Haas who decided to pay tribute to not only her family name but her late grandfather who inspired her through his music. After years of playing around with names and ideas, HAAS became the official name in 2018. Through the use of catchy melodies, rhythmic guitars, and expressive lyrics, HAAS has been able to marry the pop/rock sound. The group uses music not only as an outlet for themselves, but want the music to be an outlet for others. They draw on personal hardships, such as loss, strained relationships, bullying, depression, and anxiety, but also hardships within the world today. HAAS strives to promote a place of safety and inclusivity, where it is okay to be who you are and forget about the real world for a minute. HAAS has discussed being bullied and scared of being who they are and by embracing themselves, they hope to inspire others to do the same; “love who you are and don’t be afraid to do the things you want.” HAAS plans to release their debut five-song EP in the Spring. The follow up to his debut single "I Loved You, Once," which has racked up a cool 100,000+ Spotify streams in just a few short months, "Nobody's Nothing" is a continuation of the sound he created and developed in his debut. Hazel Bloom successfully blends together elements of R&B, pop, and electronica, crafting a sound that sets a stylistically unique tone. He sews these genres together seamlessly, setting his music on a platform right next to modern mainstream pop. Much like his debut, "Nobody's Nothing" is primarily electro-based, but the clean production and lyricism allow Hazel Bloom to turn his experimentation into an unforgettable blend of heartache, optimism, and bliss. About the single, Hazel Bloom states: “Nobody’s Nothing” is about my tendency to over analyze situations which in a result, has caused me to miss out and neglect feelings that were present. Sometimes I tend to overthink situations to the point where I miss the beauty of what's right in front of me. I wrote this song to get myself to stop looking for whatever it was I was trying to find. I believe that everything falls into place at the right time in your life and I’m learning to stop trying to find whatever it is I’m looking for and appreciate what is present at the moment. The stylistically unique indie pop artist Hazel Bloom is composed of one main singer/songwriter named Dave Carlin. He designed his stage name largely from a few main facets; the continuous blooming of love and nature. Dave wanted a title that fully defined his artistic vision as well as the ongoing growth of his persona. The main inspiration underlying Hazel Bloom is to create an infectious sound that induces the feeling of all emotions accompanied by heartfelt lyrical composition and melodies. Hazel Bloom encompasses bright and lively Pop melodies mixed with a unique, hard-hitting R&B style to create a uniform sound that will resonate with you. Though being well versed in the music scene, Hazel Bloom is the first artistry that Dave has felt completely alive and at home with. Hazel Bloom plans to leave his footprint in the music industry and has no intentions of letting anything get in the way of that. "Nobody's Nothing" is available on all digital platforms NOW. Their first music released since 2015, Here's To You have been giving their groovy indie rock sound a refreshing update and expanding their craft. "Wonder/Wander: Phase I" will serve as one of three small EPs released throughout 2019, ultimately connecting to a full LP, titled "Wonder/Wander," due out later in the year. The three EPs, which they have coined 'Phases', are the result of three plus years in the studio, creating a body of work that represents the band's current synergy. Their signature sound is still present - "Burning Alive" is built around HTY's meticulous guitar work, crisp vocals, and quality tones - but in 2019, their musicianship has matured. About the single, the band states: “The way this song came to be was kind of crazy and all happened at once. Greg had around 8 bars of this instrumental laid out in a demo, and Charlie took it home and started writing about this crazy, nostalgic, and surreal night he had while visiting his friend at college. Stephan and Mike came in and effortlessly improved on the songs structure and parts. It is one of the fastest songs we’ve ever written with each other, and it quickly became one of our favorites!” After playing together for almost a decade now, NY-based, indie pop/rock outfit Here’s To You are finally making a return with their sophomore LP, Wonder/Wander. Formed back in 2009 while still in high school, Charlie Giovanniello (Lead Vocals, Guitar), Stephan Stanzione (Drums, Vocals) and Greg Almeida (Guitar, Vocals) self-released their debut album Love Me Or Leave Me, inspired by their high school experiences. After playing hundreds of shows across the eastern seaboard, playing The Bamboozle Festival, South By Southwest Festival, and multiple shows with Atlantic Records artist Cash Cash, the group managed to garner a tight following. In 2016, the missing piece of HTY, Mike Fenimore (Bass, Vocals), was found to finally complete the group’s lineup. After spending the past three years writing, recording, rehearsing, and honing in on a fresh, updated sound, the band has used their experiences of growing up and falling in and out of love in the modern-digital age as the main set piece for Wonder/Wander. Every single rhythm, chord, and melody on Wonder/Wander has been carefully crafted, recorded, altered, and subsequently re-recorded, until each member of the band was satisfied with the final product. It’s the band’s attention to detail and meticulous songwriting on Wonder/Wander that will be sure to excite fans both old and new. After working hard behind the scenes for so long, Here’s To You is beyond eager to finally show their fans and the rest of the world what their new album and sound is all about. Their new single "Burning Alive" (and the corresponding music video) is out NOW. The music video for "Neck Tattoos" is the first of many planned 2019 releases for Live Well, as the band gears up for their impending full length album release. The track tackles the theme of wanting to reach out to a previous significant other, despite knowing they are toxic to your mental health. About the release, the band states: With a debut full length on the docket for 2019, Live Well wanted to kick the year off right with the release of our first music video for our debut single “Neck Tattoos”. The end of a relationship always takes it toll, but it's about moving past the drama and realizing that something may not always be the best for you even though you want it to be. Live Well is an emotional punk band from the greater New York area. The band was started by Paul Masbad (Lead Vocals, Guitar) and Max Johl (Guitar, Back-Up Vocals) after traveling the country together in late 2017. With the addition of Matt LaPerche (Guitar, Back-Up Vocals), Neil Stafford (Drums), and Luis Castro (Bass, Back-Up Vocals) the band was complete. In late April 2018 Live Well released "First Demos" and have been playing and writing relentlessly ever since. The band is excited to continue to share their nostalgic music and deep rooted lyrics with new fans through live shows, releasing singles and ultimately their debut album ‘Perfectly Temporary’ in 2019.
