PHILADELPHIA, PA | APRIL 24TH, 2020 - Philadelphia-based alternative rock band Perpetuals have released their new single "Passive Witness," available on all digital platforms NOW. After being approached months back about writing a song for a film about the 50th anniversary of Earth Day, Perpetuals approached the task with passion and determination. The final product, "Passive Witness," is a track centralized around chilling, yet atmospheric production and solemn instrumentation. Perpetual’s passion bleeds through the song, drawing inspiration from nature and transforming their artistry into a track poised for attention. Although written for a film, Perpetuals' authenticity shines through, finding the band at their best. About the single, the band states: While recording in the studio a few months ago, someone reached out to us about writing and recording a song for a film about Earth Day: 50 Years in the making. We took on the challenge, and within 2 weeks, we wrote the song, recorded it, and started meeting with our producer to have it mixed. We were asked to not let it be a gentle celebration, but a focus on intensity. The lyrics and the bridge are two aspects we are most proud of in this song. Earth Day is an event that we all have experienced and enjoyed through our lives, but the message of Earth Day now seems to be so much more important to advocate for. In our own growth as artists we have come to cherish the inspiration that we draw from nature and additionally, figures like Greta Thunberg serve for further inspiration and we found ourselves with an opportunity to write not just another song, but write a song that speaks volumes. We hope the passion found in the writing of this song resonates with every listener. Formed in 2018, Philadelphia-based alternative rock trio Perpetuals is refreshingly reflective. Coming together after working on a range of music projects throughout the 2010s, Perpetuals came to their current identity in 2018. Their sound is distinct, crafted from their variety of musical endeavors, both separate and together. Through reflective and passionate vocals, well-crafted guitar riffs, and energetic percussion, the group thrills all listeners and audiences alike. With styles reminiscent of artists like Young the Giant, Coldplay, U2, and Kings of Leon, the band is known for bringing a raw and emphatic energy to every live show. Their new single “Passive Witness,” which was passionately written for a film about the 50th anniversary of Earth Day, is a clear demonstration of their motivation and artistry. From high energy funk-influenced tunes to open and swaying ballads, Perpetuals is hungry to create music, and be proud of what they create. "Passive Witness" is out on all digital platforms NOW. ORLANDO, FL | APRIL 24TH, 2020 - Orlando-based progressive rock band Letters To Part have released their new single "Ascian," available on all digital platforms NOW. An introduction to their upcoming 2020 EP (yet to be announced), "Ascian" catches Letters To Part in their truest form. Their artisanal and in depth approach to production and songwriting sets the tone for their atmospheric, yet dynamic, sound. Filled with passion and fervor for their craft, Letters To Part put a unique twist on the progressive rock genre, as "Ascian" takes a dip into many flavors. As the band gear's up for their next EP release, which will be a concept album, they continue to hone in on capturing their powerful energy on recording. About the single, the band states: “Ascian really captures the mood that we try to create for our listeners. It has aggressive guitars followed by clean verses to keep the song changing, but also often repeats familiar parts. The beginning and end of the song is very powerful and it is one of our favorite songs to play in our live set.” Letters to Part is a 5-piece progressive rock outfit currently based in Orlando, Florida that blends raw emotion with dreamy instrumentals to create ambient soundscapes. Their debut LP "A Human Curse" was released in July of 2017. Since then the band has released a new single "Imperious" and recently recorded their upcoming EP with Daniel Colombo which is due out 2020. Having toured most of the U.S in support of their previous releases, Letters to Part encapsulates an atmospheric yet grounded experience with ambient guitars, dynamic drums and bass, and melodic vocals. LTP has also opened for various national acts such as Hail the Sun, Covet, Delta Sleep, Royal Coda, Strawberry Girls, and Tilian (Dance Gavin Dance). Can you talk about what changes you’re about to go through as a band? The biggest change is that Mikey is leaving but all of us are seeing a lot of things change in our lives. No matter where all of that takes us, though, we will always be so grateful for our time in Brookline. You have an EP dropping soon, which will serve as the band’s final release for the foreseeable future. Does it feel bittersweet? Oh most definitely. When we started writing this EP we had no idea it would be our last for a while. We’re so proud of the music and videos we made for it but we wish it was coming out under different circumstances. How does your new music compare to previous releases? It’s definitely a lot more polished. The writing process for our last EP was pretty sporadic and this time there was a lot more collaborative effort from all members. I think that really helped move us forward both musically and conceptually. What have been some collective favorite memories for Brookline as a band? Taking our broken van down to Long Island this past summer. We had to limp it back to upstate only using 2nd and 3rd gear. Shoutout to Daeron for being the best mechanic this side of the Mississippi. That whole trip was an adventure honestly but we had a blast. Playing with the Red Jumpsuit Apparatus was also just a really fun day for all of us. Lots of jokes and great energy all around. Do you feel that your upcoming EP is the best representation of Brookline? Which track in particular do you think best defines your sound as a whole? That’s such a loaded question. I (Mikey) think Brookline, like the people in it, has evolved and grown. The first Brookline song ever written was ‘Crossroads’ and I wrote it in my room all on my own when I was 20. It took me years to find other musicians to play with and thus the whole concept for what the band would sound like has changed so much. Also changing singers early on, and having Daeron switch from bass to guitar has made a huge impact on our sound. I would say this EP is the best representation of who we are right now. As far as a track from the EP that best represents our sound I’d have to go with Transparent. It’s melodic, yet powerful, I absolutely love the lyrics Tommy wrote, Chris’s drums in the verse are fantastic and the bridge is probably a culmination of some of our best writing to date. Is the door open for Brookline to come together in the future? Yes. It’s wide open. We’ve already chatted about how much we’re going to miss everything and each other over this next year that Mikey will be gone. If things line up we will definitely be back, if not we just want to once again thank everyone who’s supported us on this journey. It’s been amazing and we wouldn’t trade it for the world. Ushered in by the lead single "Dive In," the EP is the band's last body of work for the foreseeable future, as member Mikey Pace prepares for deployment in the United States Army. Although a turning point in their career, "Where Do I Go From Here" delivers a cohesive blend of alternative rock and post-hardcore, creating their strongest and most distinct collection to date. Coming together to release one more wave of new content, Brookline's sound is more polished than ever, and highlights their continuous evolution. About the EP, the band states: This EP is deeply personal. It may be the last thing Brookline ever does. With Mikey being deployed and Chris and Tommy both engaged to be married the future of our group has never been more unclear, however we are incredibly grateful we were able to pull together for one final release before life takes us all in different directions. Brookline is a four piece alternative rock band hailing from Upstate New York. The group consists of Mikey Pace and Dae Bennett on guitars, Chris Fox on drums, with vocals from Tommy Carter. With a genre blending sound consisting of pop punk, emo, post hardcore, and 90s alternative rock, Brookline was formed in early 2018, and after some lineup changes and musical evolution, the Albany scene grew to know their name. “Fade,” Brookline’s second EP, (but first with Tommy Carter on vocals) was released in February of 2019 and the rest of the year saw the group taking the stage at some notable venues such as Albany’s Jupiter Hall and The Hollow as well as Long Island's Amityville Music Hall. Brookline supported some big names, like Calling All Captains, Makari, Wolves at the Gate, and The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus. The end of 2019 saw Brookline take a short break to recoup and feel creative once more, and in early 2020, production began on their third EP, “Where Do I Go From Here,” recorded, mixed, and mastered by Jake Mannix at Mixed by Mannix in Scotia, New York. The four track record sings of self confidence and perseverance through difficult times as well as dealing with feelings of loss and unknowing.
