Alt Rock Duo Travelers Make No Mistakes In New Single "UH OH" VIRGINIA BEACH, VA | NOV 16TH, 2018 - Virginia Beach alternative rock duo Travelers have released their brand new single "UH OH," the third single off of their upcoming 2019 debut album "Hideko." "UH OH" is out on all digital platforms NOW. A continuation of their newly developed arena-tinged sound, Travelers are unraveling the style they have been creating for "Hideko." Although an electronic-based rock sound is not what Travelers initially set out to create, the band sounds seasoned on "UH OH," finding their style and steadily building on their new branding. About the single, the band states: This song is about fear and the great role that it plays in our lives. I try not to let it rule over all the decisions in my life, but one day while I was surfing, a shark popped up near me. It’s not unlikely that you’ll see one in the water, but this 6ft shark started circling me for a full five minutes. I’ve never been so taken over by fear in my life. That incident kind of sparked the creation of “UH OH”. Travelers is an electronic alt-rock duo from Virginia Beach, VA. Made up of members Tom Kearns (vocals, guitar, percussion) and Brandon Jenkins (drums), the duo’s anthemic, arena-esque sound was not part of their origin. The natural progression developed from their incarnation in 2015, but through lineup changes, Travelers opted to stray away from their organic rock roots. Evolving into a heavily produced, vocal-layered, rich, percussive electro-rock duo, Travelers’ upcoming single, “UH OH” is the third showing of what they have been exploring. Their new single "UH OH" is available on all digital platforms NOW. How did the concept for “Strawberry Candy” come about?
Strawberry Candy is complete sarcasm. I actually came up with the chorus while sleeping and it stuck with me. I couldn’t figure out what I was going to make of it but then I had this idea of making a whole song about being “ghosted” but it almost being a turn on. How does the track differ from the music on your EP earlier this year? It’s more of a full band sound rather than all electronic although it does still have that feel. Was the new single a natural progression from the EP? Absolutely. This was just a growth process for me writing wise and even production wise for my producer Greg Almeida it was a new challenge for him as well. Will “Strawberry Candy” become part of a larger body of work? I will be starting to work on a second EP very soon and Strawberry Candy will be okthat as well. How would you describe the single in just three words? Sarcastic. Sweet. Electric. https://m.facebook.com/pg/Elesa-Marmo-539885293037324/about/?ref=page_internal www.instagram.com/elesamarmo www.twiter.com/elesamarmo https://open.spotify.com/artist/0PnLlG6YyDlU97FHTsocHR?si=xqyjsb58Tq-AbYppXLADdQ Strawberry Candy - Single by Elesa Marmohttps://itunes.apple.com/us/album/strawberry-candy-single/1441080357

How would you describe your upcoming LP “Forever Fight” in three words?
Forever Fight is: alive, honest, and bold. Why did you choose to record a full fledged LP instead of an EP? We made the choice to record an LP because we wanted to have the space and time to etch out our sound. Each song was a building process in the studio; searching for how to take the songwriters initial intention and grow beyond it, while not losing integrity. The process created a common language among the band. We took time relating each track back to our vision of the whole record. I think if we were to cut an EP, we would have stunted our growth unintentionally. Forever Fight took over a year to finish - embodying Knightlife’s ‘forever fight.’ In addition we really love albums… whenever on tour or hanging about in West Philly we are only listening to full length records. Which song on the record do you think defines Knightlife’s sound best as a whole? Slow Down & Insomnia juxtapose each other in a really important way for the album. Slow Down is full of must and attitude; where Insomnia is full of momentum and emotion. Slow Down has a confident rock tinge to it, featuring a long soaring solo, familiar progressions, and cautionary lyrics. Insomnia is 21st century rock, a lullaby-like melody and small movements of change between chords help to embody a search for creativity. Slow Down is the dark, while Insomnia is the light. So, with that in mind potentially neither best define Knightlife’s sound because they are opposite ends of the spectrum. Night Time Sally is a perfect example of the marriage between the musty and the momentous. The final track to Forever Fight captures the band’s old-classic and new-era influences by stimulating a bouncing, rocking, and theatrical energy. Night Time Sally questions love and romance; while naturally growling and biting. Will there be any touring to support this release? Yes we will be touring to support this release. Those details should come out mid-November, hang tight! How many songs were written for this LP? What was the process like choosing the final tracklist? The eleven tracks that are on Forever Fight were selected from a larger batch of demos; ranging from around 20-25 songs. Initially the album was to have ten tracks. Overgrown was the last addition to the track-listing - we really had thought the album was finished. Writing an acoustic song was suggested by Aaron to help change the pace of the record. Bruce wrote Overgrown and unexpectedly named the album, being that the final words of Overgrown are ‘forever fight.’ Deciding on songs became evident as the process moved along, we felt like we always had a good pulse on what energy and direction we needed in order to move the album in the best direction. We seriously considered spacing because of our intent to put Forever Fight out on vinyl before the New Year - nothing beats flipping a record. What do you want people to take away from “Forever Fight”? We hope Forever Fight serves as creative encouragement for listeners to explore their relationships, mindsets, and burgeroning questions. Among many things Forever Fight confronts conflict, pain, loss, resolve, joy, and love. Through Forever Fight’s confrontation we hope listeners enjoy our personality and relatability. With the same passion I hope people genuinely enjoy Forever Fight’s music. It has an ability to be reserved one section and energetic the next. The music is equal parts emotionally moving and physically moving. We think Forever Fight has multiple tracks that are simply great and want them seen that way. www.twitter.com/knightlife_band www.knightlife.club www.facebook.com/knightlifeband www.instagram.com/knightlife_band ATLANTA, GA | NOVEMBER 9TH, 2018 - Atlanta, GA bred rock band Misty Eyed have released their new EP, titled "Eurydice," out on all digital platforms NOW. Through the lead single "Attila," released early last month, the band delivered a powerful EP preview, showcasing lead vocalist Megan Burke's crystal-clear vocals and pristine rock melodies. The remainder of "Eurydice" packs a powerful punch, exploring the facets of Misty Eyed's musicianship through dynamic guitar riffs and commanding drum patterns. About "Eurydice", the band states: Concept. They were all very different songs. We saw a lot of parallels in the story of Orpheus and Eurydice, which is how we came up with the album title. Once we had the concept, we were able to gather content for the creative (artwork, videos). The writing process was very collaborative. One person can write a song, but it’s not complete until everyone has their input. Everyone has a small hand in every part of this album. The recording process was amazing. We recorded with Austin Blaine at Stray Thoughts recording. Austin is so personable & creative; he made the process comfortable and fun while staying super professional. Hailing from north metro Atlanta, Megan Burke, John Eck, Wes Powell & Zach Nall are Misty Eyed. This four-piece is anything but an ordinary hard rock group; mixing sounds and vibrations as opposed to sticking to the confines of one genre is what they do best. From the haunting melodies of their EP favorite 'Freakshow' to the forthcoming triumphant single 'Attila’, these four don't shy away from experimenting. With only 4 released songs, they’ve not yet failed to impress. In 2018 alone, they’ve opened for the likes of Hollywood Undead, Trapt, and even secured a slot at the Blue Ridge Rock Fest which boasted headliners Lamb of God and Motionless in White. Their upcoming EP, out Nov 9, is a testament to their creative experimentation, offering listeners a variety of flavors of rock. Are you excited that “Attila” is finally out?
Absolutely!! We had been sitting on it for a little while and were pretty anxious to share it with everyone. What did the creative process for “Attila” look like? Well it started with an idea Wes (Bass) had had for this bass riff. From there, we just collaborated with each other and came up with this piratey feeling song. “Attila” is the first single off of your upcoming November record release. Why was that song chosen to be released first? We thought it was a strong, catchy choice. In our opinion, it's not quite our favorite, but we wanted to save the best for when everyone gets a chance to hear the full album! How was the album’s name “Eurydice” chosen? Did the word have any particular meaning to the band members? We had come across this story in Greek mythology of a man who saves his love from the underworld using music. Eurydice is the name of his girl, and we thought the story was a great fit for our story and our vibe. In terms of sound, how would you classify Misty Eyed? Is your sound something that you specifically set out to create, or did it flow out naturally? I think it flows pretty naturally. Sometimes we'll set out to challenge ourselves by creating something with a specific sound, but we try to keep it organic and come from pieces of our own sounds as individuals. Will there be any touring to support the record release? We might just have to wait and see! I know we have a few things up our sleeves. Please include all social and streaming links! Catchy, illustrative, and spooky. What do you want listeners to take away from “Forgetmenow”? We want our listeners to understand the energy behind the song and the thoughts to make it come together. Hopefully enough to see us take it to the stage live. Do you think the single is the strongest representation of your sound? Our sound is quite tricky. Every song definitely has a different feel than the next. There’s some progressive rock, americana rock, pop, it really goes all over. But this song definitely gives a representation of the heavier side of our tracks. What’s next after the release of “Forgetmenow”? What does the rest of 2018 look like for you? We’re just about finished with the composition of our debut full-length, and we’re going to be spending the rest of the year and into the start of next year just playing out and recording the new songs. Will you be touring at all in 2019 to promote your new music? We’d personally love to pull together something like that. Hopefully in the summer we can string a little northeastern run of shows to promote the new record. Spotify Apple Music Bandcamp
“This song I wanted to be really fun and just completely sarcastic. I wanted to capture the feeling of being “ghosted” but in a whole other view where instead of making the person upset it sort of gives them a reason to keep trying. I brought this song to Greg Almeida who produced the track, with just a voice memo of my vocal melody and some piano chords and we sat in his room and just made the song come alive and we experimented with different sounds and sound bites like the dial tones and phone operator voice.” Elesa Marmo is a singer/songwriter from Long Island, New York. Marmo has most recently been involved in indie duo The Wilts, also based on Long Island. After many years of wanting to pursue music, as well as releasing music with The Wilts, Marmo released her debut EP, titled "Clear Blue," which blends mainstream electropop and light acoustic influences, in early 2018. "Clear Blue" is a beautiful representation of the two sides to Marmo's artistry; mainstream electronic-tinged pop, and delicate, stripped back ballads. Produced and co-written by Greg Almeida (VISTA), the EPs four tracks emit a summery feel, containing two upbeat, Carly Rae Jepsen-esque bangers, and two lax, very minimalistic tunes, all also co-written by Marmo. Growing up listening to a large variety of mainstream pop artists, her original music is heavily influenced with electronic sounds and soft acoustic feels. Her brand new single "Strawberry Candy," the first music released since her debut EP, is an expansion of the sound she pieced together on "Clear Blue." A dip into the band's upcoming debut record, "Forgetmenow" is a narrative, progressive track, encompassing members' Nolan Grzeg and Joe DeSalvo's music influences, including Billy Joel, The Eagles, and The Dear Hunter. While inspired by classic artists, "Forgetmenow" puts a bit of a retro spin on modern pop and rock. About the single, the band states: The single “Forgetmenow” is a progressive rock/pop track, and tells a tale of a man who has been framed for murder, but unable to prove his innocence, resulting in a prison sentence for him. DeSalvo had written the instrumentals about three years ago, and Grzeg wrote lyrics and a melody to accompany it and took it to the studio. You’re F!red initially started out as a solo project ran by Nolan Grzeg out of a basement in Dracut Massachusetts, starting in early 2017. Beforehand, Grzeg took on songwriting under a solo name, but decided it was better to have a “band front” instead. With that mindset, he crafted a four-song EP titled Who Can I Call, consisting of four songs ranging from melodic pop/rock to indie to electronic instrumentals. After the debut EP released in August of 2017, he acquired live members from the area to take the songs live around the local area, gigging in places like Cambridge MA, Tewksbury MA, and Manchester NH. After some time, live guitarist Joe DeSalvo joined as an official member in mid-2018. With his songwriting and playing abilities, Grzeg and DeSalvo begin writing a full-length album. With You’re F!red being two official members, Grzeg and DeSalvo are in the midst of completing and producing a new record to be released early 2019. Their lead single Forgetmenow releases on November 2nd, self-produced and mastering done by Dan Knittel at Anthemic Recording Studios. "Forgetmenow" is available on all digital platforms NOW.
