Your new EP “Space Between Words on a Page” is out now. How does it feel to release this body of work? It is honestly incredible. So much time, effort, and emotion went in to making this EP. I’m so excited that it’s out now and I hope everyone can find a connection in one of the songs. This is the first body of art that truly defines my artistry right now and I’m so excited to keep working and move forward. You released two singles beforehand to help promote the EP. Why were those two songs chosen as the singles? That’s just where I was in the recording process haha. I didn't have a whole EP at the time and wanted to get some new songs out there to start tracking ground. “Royal” is gaining a ton of traction on Spotify, do you plan to release a music video for this track? I may in the future, but right now I am focusing on my next body of work and all new content. I hope to have a music video or 2 for the next body of music I put out. I hope to use this EP as a product to start gaining a larger fan base. Do you plan to tour in 2019 to promote the EP? I will not be touring, unfortunately. But i will be playing some shows over the summer to promote the EP. My main goal is to tour full time so I am definitely working towards that goal! Your sound is a fusion of what seems to be a bunch of different influences. What inspired you the most in the studio? For this EP I definitely gained a lot of influence from LANY, Quinn XCII, and blackbear. I’ve been listening to a lot of pop, r&b, and edm lately so I think that’s where a lot of influence for this EP stems from. I also love music that is hard hitting, and energy filled and I feel that is also prevalent in my music. LONG ISLAND, NY | JULY 26TH, 2019 - Long Island-based indie pop/rock band MAYVE have released their new single, "Slide," available on all digital music platforms NOW. Part of a three single series, "Slide" is a follow up to their early 2019 single "Head High," which received recognition from numerous media outlets, including Alternative Press. The track is a relaxed, indie-fused pop track, but don't let the low-key vibes fool you - "Slide" is sure to remain on repeat, a perfect summer hit. After receiving sync placements on various MTV shows, such as The Real World, MAYVE found themselves transitioning and evolving into a groovy, sugary, mainstream indie-esque pop sound. Although "Slide" leans heavier on the electronic spectrum, the band upholds their indie and alternative roots throughout the track's production. About "Slide", MAYVE states: Koinophobia–the fear of living an ordinary life. “Slide” follows the tempo of a mind left to wander. One that slips into a downward spiral and denies the tangibility of our most ineffable moments. Audible growing pains. MAYVE is an alternative pop band from New York. They’re influenced by the music of the late '70s and early ‘80s and apply the lens of modern culture. MAYVE released 2 EP’s thus far as well as a follow up single titled “Neon” and part one of a 3 single series, “Head High”. MAYVE wants their voice, sound, and influence to live on the dividing line of light and dark, speaking real emotions and confusing times on top of an otherwise uplifting soundtrack. There's a long road ahead with plenty more to say. "Slide" is available on all digital music platforms NOW. The 7-track collection, engineered and produced by Matt Brasch of the Wonder Years, is the perfect representation of Shakeout's wide variety of influences, spanning across pop, punk, and hip-hop music. The band has built their sound on the extensive usage of looping, giving the illusion that Shakeout contains more than two members. The EP's lead single "Take Time," which was released in June, spans across a wide range of genres and offers an exclusive look at what to expect sonically on their upcoming record. Bold, unique, and distinct, "Balance The Imbalance" is geared to cater to an extensive audience. Shakeout is a two-piece alt/punk band from Yonkers, NY, that formed at the end of 2016. Through the use of a single guitar, a pedalboard, too many amplifiers, and a powerhouse of a drummer; the band's one-of-a-kind live show incorporates live looping to create the illusion of more than just two A.J.'s in the lineup. With a little more than two years of work under their belts, the band has already self-released three EP’s (Parts I-III), and has played throughout the east coast and midwest including shows in NY, NJ, MA, CT, PA, NC, GA, TN, KY, and OH; including festival appearances at the Launch Music Conference in Lancaster, PA, NYC’s Punk Island, and NY Riverfest.
