INTERVIEW: Allison & Moon chats upcoming single "Puppy Love"

Where did the theme for “Puppy Love” stem from?
Allison: It all stemmed from a question my girlfriend asked me on my birthday last year - “Do you think dogs can fall in love?” I was falling for her at the time, and we were both too nervous to say it. So, I connected the emotions I was feeling with the idea of puppy love as a concept, and I made a story out of it!
Will “Puppy Love” be included on a larger body of work in the future?
Allison: Definitely! We are working on a 5-song EP as we speak.
How would you define Allison & Moon in just three words?
Allison: Emo yet optimistic.
Do you think “Puppy Love” is the best representation of the band’s sound?
Allison: For sure. This is the first song we are releasing that all of us participated in writing. Whereas before, it was just me and some studio musicians. Though I wrote the core of the song, Mike and Courtney added their style and sound, and this feels genuinely like us.
What is next for Allison & Moon?
Allison: We are going on tour to support this release! It will be our first one, and we are super excited. After that, we’re back in the studio to finish the EP, and we’ll be releasing a music video shortly after.
