Listen For The Light "Destiny Defined" Album Review

   A metalcore band from Maryland, Listen For The Light has a unique blend of influences evident in their sound and showed it off with their new EP, Destiny Defined. One track may remind you of Escape the Fate while another pulls off the heavier grind of Miss May I, and with the addition of an acoustic track you may even find yourself getting a Panic! At The Disco vibe.
   It was interesting to listen to the EP straight through the first time. Almost like a collaborative collection, each song has a new quality to it, giving the impression that there is no specific genre. Yet once you give an ear to each piece, a signature element will be found that defines Listen For The Light. It’s more of an attitude than an element of music. There is confidence that is audible in each track. They know they’re unique and they know that’s what makes their music worth listening to.

It was a pleasure to listen to this EP, and honestly  a breath of fresh air to hear a metal band not have the same breakdown in every bridge. I enjoy hearing groups change things up and experiment, and when done well it adds so much more credibility.  In the music industry we find too many young bands repeating what has been done over and over again. I would definitely recommend checking these guys out!
