FEATURED ARTISTS: Against Their Will

6/3/2014

    North Carolina's high-energy musical
alliance known as Against Their Will was unleashed in late 2010 by Wilson's four
hardest-working musicians after going through years of lineup changes and songwriting evolution. After releasing "The Brotherhood" EP less than a year later, they were launched without hesitation into the spotlight of their local music community.  In the Fall of 2013, the quartet released American Stratofortress on NC's indie label "Mightier Than The Sword Records".  Many of their songs have received mostly positive reception worldwide via Internet radio programs.  With a sound
reminiscent to 1980's-era Metallica, tracks such as "Hellward Bound" and "Out Of Fear" are sure to have a nostalgic appeal to old-school metal fans, with enough sonic angst to simultaneously win over modern-age listeners.
These four arrive at each venue armed to the teeth with a no-bullshit work ethic; as well as an upbeat, inviting live performance that encourages crowd participation through an
aggressive, yet positive expression rarely seen in underground music today.

Winning the Band of the Month poll on the Johnny ‘Cutt Promotions’ Facebook page, local band Against Their Will earned the opportunity to play at Hooligans Pub and Music Hall and
killed it! For fans of such as Pantera, Metallica and Godsmacked this group would be one to check out.
Lead vocalist Logan X and Taylor Thrash shredding it on guitar, Jake Tripp on bass
and Bill Celestino jamming at the drum kit, this group showcased their talents on the stage this Wednesday and were well accepted by the crowd. The setlist packed with upbeat rhythms and the great interaction between the band mates made for an entertaining performance to say the least. They kept the night lively and
continued to hold the audiences attention with their friendly stage presence.

A blend of old school metal and new age
hard rock, they are an easy listen for all ages and a happy medium no matter where you’re at on the rock spectrum. With an appreciation for the classics and a love for the new edge rock music has taken on, I found their sound to be a smooth execution of meshing the two together.  I definitely recommend you give them a listen and if you are Facebook give them a LIKE.
