All Time Low’s Future Hearts was released in the US today. It being the group’s sixth studio album, we knew we could count on some great pop punk tunes with catchy hooks, but the guys of ATL being masters of producing angsty teen anthems surprised us with a handful of truly fantastically written songs and a story that unfolds as the album progresses. Lyrically, they hit the mark with tracks like “Something’s Gotta Give”, “Missing You” and “Tidal Wave” showing off their songwriting capabilities at their finest. The record is full of sing-along, head bopping jams as well as calmer, folk like songs stimulating a spirit-lifting atmosphere. All Time Low has always done a good job of lightening the otherwise darker sentiments of their lyrics with fun melodies, which has done well for them considering their fan base consist predominately of teens in need of a musical get away. With cool electronic elements, mainstream punk ballads and appearances from Blink-182’s Mark Hoppus and Good Charlotte’s Joel Madden, there are a handful of reasons for this to be a hit. Overall, Future Hearts gets a big thumbs up from us. Shannon Rae Comments are closed.
